Bullet Point 2 (of 12) - Jesus came to die. (misses the mark completely)

Bullet Point 2 (of 12): Jesus came to die - completely misses the mark. The following is from “The New Future of Christianity” a public speech (to 25,000) by Rev. Sun Myung Moon 1974 September 18th in Madison Square Garden, New York, USA. It is logical, and references the same Bible that present day Christians use, but reveals a wholly different picture. Jesus came for nothing less than establishing the kingdom of heaven on earth but was, sadly, rejected by the then chosen people.

Just like the fake election in the USA of 2020, things will never get better unless this wrong is put right. The terrible mistake has to be acknowledged first of all, together with a vow to never make this level of mistake ever again. ‘We the people’ need to rehabilitate our relationship with God and invite Him back to the very center of who we are as a people, by becoming as Jesus advised in Matt.5:48.

There is one historical puzzle that has not been solved.

For 4,000 years before the coming of Jesus Christ, God had prepared the people for the Messiah. Through His prophets, God had forewarned the people to be ready for the Messiah. God was working to build up expectation, and there was indeed great messianic fervor in Israel. And at the appointed hour, God fulfilled His promise. The Son of God, Jesus Christ, came to his own people on time.

Then what happened? History is the witness. We did not know him. We rejected him, rebelled against him and finally crucified him on the cross. Why?
The Christian churches say, "Well, the answer to that question is, simply, God sent Jesus Christ to die on the cross. The crucifixion was the predestined will of God from the beginning."

Then let me ask those Christians, "What will you do when Jesus Christ returns to you today?" All Christians undoubtedly will answer, "We will receive him! Welcome him! Unite with him! Follow him!" Let me further ask, "Will you crucify Christ when he appears?" Your answer must be, "No!"

If that is so, then what about the people of 2,000 years ago? If they had accepted Jesus - as you would today - would they still have had to crucify him? No! It was a mistake! It was in ignorance that we crucified Jesus Christ.

It was God's will that His people accept the Messiah. But we crucified him instead. And then Christians "passed the buck" by saying that was the will of God. Ridiculous! This is not acceptable to our logic. Something must have gone terribly wrong. What was it?

The people did not know who Jesus of Nazareth was. They did not know him as the Son of God. If they had clearly known Jesus was the Messiah, the Son of God, they would not have crucified him.

He came to his own home, and his own people received him not. (John 1:11) None of the rulers of this age understood this; for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. (1 Cor. 2:8)

If they had only known who he was, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. It was a mistake. It was ignorance and blindness that killed Jesus Christ!

Invitation to a Worldview Spring-cleaning seminar March 18th - 20th at the beautiful Mountain Retreat in W. Virginia, USA. “Mission of the Messiah” and “True Parents in the Completed Testament Age” among the topics. Attend in person, or on-line. Looking forward to seeing you there. Let’s get real about God!

I came to Christ through the Lord at His Second Coming. I have been connected with what some would regard as a ‘New Age cult’ for more than 40 years. I want, through this website, to share what I’ve come to understand, and show that it stands up to scrutiny, and criticism.

Until quite recently I had regarded Christians as the enemy of the Lord of the Second Advent! But then, through Rev. Moon’s successor, Hyung Jin Moon, after his ‘Breaking the Silence’ (2015 January) where he emphasized the Bible (KJV) and spoke almost exclusively of Jesus, grace and faith I decided to connect with a Christian church (Belmont Church in Harrow, London, UK) to find out about these aspects of faith and grace which I had no idea about.

My strength was the words of truth, as I saw it, that were contained in the ‘Exposition of the Divine Principle’. This is the basic teaching of the Rev. Sun Myung Moon that, for me, made sense of the Bible.

That Hyung Jin Moon (aka Sean Moon) has since become irrelevant is regrettable but should not become a stumbling block. The 8 Great Sacred Texts (available on the Resources page) constitute the New Age Truth that we need to connect with (from the Lord of the Second Coming) and, I believe, these are absolute.

So began a journey that opened up the teaching of Rev Moon to an understanding where I came to realize that I am a Christian, Jesus IS the Messiah (as opposed to was the Messiah) and a complete reappraisal of this teaching which is what I want to share through this means.

OK; there are abridged explanations and sudden conclusions already but I will deal with those if you write to me; let us reason together - and test all things and hold fast to what is good! Also a lot of these can be overcome by reading, "The Exposition of the Divine Principle".

Thanks for engaging with this and I hope to hear from you so that we can share together as brothers and sisters in Christ and arrive at an understanding of the Gospel of the Kingdom of Heaven that is more to do with 1 Corinthians 3:16 than John 3:16 Thank You for visiting this website.

    Let us reason together . . .
