The meaning of 'Israel'

The story of Jacob is recorded in Genesis. He was tested representing Heaven even after he had gone through a course of atrocious troubles. During the course of those trials, Jacob kept in his heart the thought that he was the blessed, chosen person. He fought to the finish with an angel who was trying to hold that will in check. He then won the victory and was granted entry into the realm of a person chosen by God. Because Jacob attained victory after struggling against all kinds of difficulty centering on God's will, God granted him the name "Israel." We use the word "Israel" frequently today.

This is not a simple noun. This word represented an historical life. This is the noun of victory that concluded the 2,000 year history from Adam to Jacob. We should not forget this. Furthermore, we must realize that after setting up Jacob and granting him the blessing to be called Israel, God felt happiness. At the same time, He was sad.

The reason God carried out the dispensation of toiling for several thousand years looking for Jacob is because Adam, the ancestor, had fallen. Owing to his fall, Adam lost the blessing God gave. That blessing had to be recovered, but the historical course of recovering God's lost blessing was indescribably sorrowful. You must understand that the God who blessed Jacob with the name Israel had this kind of sorrowful heart.

When God granted the blessing of "Israel", the word was not to be limited to the one generation of Jacob. It represented the ideology and ideal of the whole creation. This one word was fraught with God's feeling of heart in its entirety.

Jacob was exhausted from toiling for several decades at Laban's house. He had come through a difficult life course to establish the land of Canaan God had granted. Then he went looking for Esau in the country of Edom, losing everything he had for the sake of carrying out the will of Heaven, which had blessed him through the uplifted hands of Isaac.

However, the homeland he returned to was not the original homeland in which he could have had joy in his own time. It could not be the seat of joy for him. Even as he was going back to see his homeland, for which he felt affection, and his brother, Jacob was anxious and worried. You must not forget that this is not a state of affairs only Jacob, one individual, had to endure. This is a course all of humanity must walk.

The Jordan and Jabbok Rivers blocked the road that led to Jacob's hometown. With the blessed land in front of him, Jacob could not sleep. Instead, he had to pray shedding tears. The ancestors had left behind this state of affairs. This was the situation of God, who was conducting the providence of the heavenly principles. We should know that Jacob felt this in his heart more deeply than anyone else.

This situation was not limited to Jacob's generation. It recurred in the course of the history of the chosen Israelites. All the prophets and sages who appeared in association with God's will had to bear this kind of heart. In order to enter into the bosom of the Father, they had to cross the hill of struggle with a barrier of darkness in front of them. You should bear this in mind.

God granted the blessing through the hands of Isaac and urged Jacob to abandon everything and go back to his homeland. Why could God not make Jacob's path smooth? Why did He let the kind of heartless circumstance develop in which He sent an angel and let the angel hurt Jacob? Why did He not give a word of advice to Jacob who was appealing all night before Heaven, bearing the will of the heavenly principles with a fretful feeling of heart on the banks of the Jabbok River?

Moses had a similar trial
Although he led a miserable and lonely life as a shepherd in the wilderness, Moses forgot about his miserable conditions. Thinking of the Israelites toiling under mistreatment by their enemies in Egypt, Moses shed tears of sympathy. You must know this. Moses' lonely state of affairs and his heart touched Heaven deeply. Because Moses was concerned for the sake of Heaven and appeared as a representative concerned for the chosen people, God called Moses again and dispatched him to the palace of the Pharaoh.

This is just like Jacob's course when he went with all his belongings to see Esau after toiling for twenty-one years at the house of Laban in fear of Esau. You should understand that Moses walked a difficult course like that of Jacob.

By setting up Aaron and Miriam, who represented the word, and by showing the works of three great wonders, Moses stepped out to look for the palace of the Pharaoh where Heaven commanded him to go.

What happened then? God did not provide a smooth path for Moses. Instead, someone tried to kill him as he retired to rest. (Exod. 4:24) Again, this is a course similar to that of Jacob. Moses had to go through the circumstances of Jacob wrestling with an angel on the banks of the Jabbok River, impervious to his own injury. Moses was put in that same situation by God. You should know that after going over this kind of trial without a hitch, Moses met the chosen Israelites again and built the altar of Israel on the nationwide level, representing God and the people.

These excerpts from the last sermon of Volume 3 (Resources page) show that mankind has to own the Will of God, even at the risk of death. Also that mankind has to prove their determination to see it through in spite of an attack from God.

Jesus overcame a trial of this kind when he was affirming that God exists at the same time that God was denying Jesus:

Jesus said, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" (Matt. 27:46). This was because, as the hero of the restoration of the whole universe, Jesus had to indemnify the fact that Adam, who represented the universe, had betrayed Heaven. Because in this situation Jesus said, "I know God," even as God was saying, "I don't know you," he was able to bring about spiritual resurrection. You must be aware that this kind of crucial historical moment is left for you to overcome too.

If we have the wrong understanding of the restoration providence of God and the crucial element of the Human Portion of Responsibility (with which even God cannot interfere with, or intervene in) then we will fall down in the Last Days. That Christianity has already failed to connect with the 2nd coming of Christ shows that their expectations are seriously skewed. It was shown that the Christian Churches were easily shut down and lumped with non-essential businesses (whatever they are) during the plandemic. Christianity is in need of an upgrade. What better way than to look afresh for the 2nd coming of Christ and connect with the new word and Blessing that he brought.

The evidence that the Lord of the Second Advent came shortly after WW1 can be found two blogs back. St Paul advised to test all things and hold fast to what is good. Awesome advice!

With the 1st amendment rights coming under attack in the present administration in America and dissenting opinions to the official line being suppressed throughout the world it is important that the re-awakening taking place in the wake of these draconian lockdowns, exercise of emergency government powers, and the state asserting that your body and your children are actually owned by the state through the vaccine mandates, will rapidly develop and grow. Evil is on display right now like never before and requires a robust response.

If you don't think that these are the veritable Last Days by now I don't know what further things would need to happen to convince you.

A good comment was left on the last blog by Robert Herring - thank You!

Looking forward to hearing your comments, criticism etc.

Last week I could finish our 720 houses Home Church area and concluded it with delivering a printout of the previous blog to all those who gave me their name. This had a better chart than the blog, with that which appears in the actual book Exposition of the Divine Principle showing the Parallels of History. Almost 80 people had given me their names.

I was surprised by how few people actually engaged with the evidence that I've been presenting since April when I started. I can recognize that it's not easy to look at things from a totally fresh viewpoint. I think that I was able to as I had rejected the accepted truth more than 40 years ago and was actively looking for something that made sense. So, I guess that the people that I'm trying to engage with, in the area where we're living, also need to feel, at a fundamental level, that the currently accepted truth really doesn't work.

It is tempting to take things literally that are described in the Bible but then they don't always make logical sense. For example, Adam and Eve hid themselves when they heard God's footsteps in the garden in the cool of the day right after the Fall of Man. There is a line in Psalms where it talks of the hills dancing with joy. Jesus came to cast fire on the earth and wished that it was already kindled. As you know, in the book of Malachi, it states that Elijah will come before the great and terrible day of the Lord and yet Jesus (no less) stated - if you can accept it - that John the Baptist was the Elijah. This means that the 2nd coming of Elijah occurred through a different person, with a different name. And, in addition, John the Baptist himself negated this claim and never actually followed Jesus.

So the assertion that I'm making - that the Messiah came already, born on the earth (in 1920), means that all ideas about the 2nd coming of Christ would need to be revised. Also our understanding about God would need to be totally revised too. Yet, it's true to say, if you accept Jesus as Messiah/ Christ that is, that the first chosen people made a terrible mistake (and still refuse to accept that); so why couldn't the 2nd chosen people (Christianity) make a similar terrible mistake?

If things go wrong in our lives then we are more likely to look more closely at what we're doing and are more open to making changes. The present view of many Christians that the rapture will take place is similar to the mindset of a poor person who does the lottery. In the twinkling of an eye everything can be changed. This is why evidence that the Messiah came already more that 100 years ago doesn't sit well with accepted wisdom. The rapture didn't take place in 1920 for one, and the world is still dysfunctional and full of conflict for another.

But those who actually win the lottery usually end up more broke than before they won because they have no preparation in their mind to deal with the seemingly unlimited wealth. In the same way, we need to first rehabilitate our lost relationship with God to make the foundation for true wealth that will never go away.

How many Christians think that God was truly sorrowful at the Fall of Man and has been living in sorrow ever since? How many Christians realize, or think about, how shameful the birth of Jesus was since he was born in a stable? Someone amongst the chosen people should have prepared for the Messiah's coming but yet foreigners did that - the three 'kings' - who travelled a long way and brought gifts. Neither did the chosen people, or Jesus' disciples, carry Jesus' cross, that was done by a foreigner too - Simon of Cyrene.
The rapture and associated way of thinking puts mankind in the ballpark of pets of God. We look after our pets and receive love from them for doing that, but it's a different quality of love than that we can receive from fellow humans. We clean out their living environment from time to time and change the water for our fishes, or replace and renew the place where they do their poop. Is this how we think God regards us? God, after all, is considered to be all-powerful, all-knowing, eternal and absolute.

If we're made in the image of God who is a creator then we must also have the qualities of a creator. This, in fact, sets us apart from the rest of creation. Even the most intelligent animals don't adorn themselves with clothes and jewelry. Jesus being the actual embodiment of truth tried to get the people to believe in him but, since they didn't, he had to couch the truth in figurative language. This has given rise to many church denominations. Also the re-birth that Jesus and the Holy Spirit give cannot be passed on to the children of re-born parents. This should give a clue as to the main purpose of the Messiah's coming. To embody (own) the truth and to give full re-birth.

The 'Fall of Man' story in the Bible shows that the mistake of mankind enabled satan to become the false god, false ruler, of this world. Therefore it makes sense that God cannot drive out satan for us; for to do so would devalue our original position in front of God.. To put it another way, since we (mankind) invited satan in, we (mankind) must drive satan out. We can do this by uniting with and emulating the Messiah who, essentially, is the True Adam. To establish the Messiah (true Adam) is God's responsibility, but to believe in, and connect with, the Messiah is mankind's responsibility.

This may seem to be a novel interpretation and seems to fly in the face of an all powerful God and yet there are clues in the Bible that God cannot force compliance from Mankind. For example God spoke with Cain shortly after the first sacrifices when Abel's was accepted but Cain's was rejected:  Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? 7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.” (Gen. 4:6,7 NIV) This speaks of taking personal responsibility, right?

The human portion of responsibility is not given much room in usual Christian thought. But, consider this, if Love is the main purpose of creation and freedom is required in order for Love to exist, then the responsibility that is generated from the choices that are made are a by-product inescapable from that. The quality of Love for both God and mankind must then be necessarily the same for the creation of mankind to have real meaning for God. Otherwise we are God's pets, rather than God's children.

What is taking place throughout the world right now and, especially, in the USA is like a wake up call for us to start to think for ourselves. I am very grateful to hear the Trial for the right to self defence (trial of Kyle Rittenhaus) has resulted in the verdict of 'not guilty' on all counts. This is a sign that 'we the people' are waking up. Satan is being exposed and the apparatus for control and forced compliance is being dismantled. These are clear signs of mankind entering a new era. The era opened by the LSA (Lord of 2nd Advent) is as different from the preceding era as the New Testament era was from the Old Testament era which preceded that. Understanding this new era, formally called 'Era of 4th Adam' by the 2nd advent is in line with the personal taking of responsibility by people on the side of God everywhere. This is why Jesus taught the seeming paradox of those who want to keep their life will lose it, but those who are willing to lose their life will keep it.

Where to look, for the evidence that the 2nd Advent occurred already, is in the previous blog.

Shocking News for Some, but Great News Nonetheless

There is evidence that the 2nd coming of Christ manifested by being born on the earth shortly after WW1. To begin to accept that as being true means that all our concepts of Christ are challenged. But it's true to say that the 1st Chosen people missed accepting Jesus as the long awaited Messiah and they're still waiting. Why should it come as a surprise to learn that the 2nd Chosen people (Christianity) have made a similar mistake.

Jesus should have been believed and followed by the people of 2000 years ago but we know that he was not. The disciples who followed Jesus did not really understand Jesus either, as one of the 12 (Judas) betrayed him, the one Jesus called 'the rock' denied him, the three main disciples (Peter, James and John) couldn't stay awake during the serious environment and prayer in the garden of Gethsemane, and a foreigner (Simon of Cyrene) was mustered to  carry the cross of Jesus as all the disciples had run away. The followers of Jesus didn't really start to understand who Jesus was until the Holy Spirit came to them after the death of Jesus on the cross.

The history of the first chosen people has been very harsh and their nation was not recovered until 1948 May 14; and their capital city, Jerusalem, was not recognized until 70 years later (to the day) in 2018. The history of Christianity has been characterized by martyrdom to such an extent as to be surprising even to the Muslims.

What did Jesus come to do? It was to build the kingdom of heaven evidenced by his primary gospel, "repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand". Just as God needs an appropriate response from mankind that was not accomplished as can be seen from Genesis 6:6 - 'The Lord was sorry that He made mankind on the earth, and it grieved Him to His heart'; Jesus as the Word made flesh (substantial God if you will) needed an appropriate response from the chosen people. But Jesus lamented that, "I have told you earthly things and you don't believe, how can I speak of heavenly things?" (John 3:12) and, speaking of Jerusalem, "I wanted to gather you together like a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you would not." . . . You did not know the time of your visitation!" (Luke 19:41-44)
The re-birth that Jesus gave cannot be passed on to the children of Christian parents (yet the 1st human ancestors were originally without sin). Would this not be one of the primary reasons for Christ to return? as per Jesus' conversation with Nicodemus in John chapter 3 - to change our lineage from that of the Fall to that of God (as the first human ancestors were before the Fall).

Another aspect is the revealing of the full truth that Jesus could only explain partly and through figurative speech. You recall that Jesus declared he would do this in John 16:25, "These things I have spoken to you figuratively, but the time is coming (2A of Christ) when I will speak to you plainly of the Father.
Picture
'We the people' of the Last Days will need this plain truth to come into alignment with God's absolute standard and to become as Jesus, the substantialization of God's word. This is the very purpose of creation after all. This makes perfect sense of Genesis 1:27 which states that we (mankind) are made in God's image. And in Jesus' statement that we become perfect as Heavenly Father is perfect. (Matt. 5:48)

The Lord of the 2nd Coming (aka True Parents of Heaven, Earth and Humankind - God's Substantial Self) did give words of truth in plain language in the Peace Messages given in the decades surrounding the new millennium as well as Blessing Ceremonies to give re-birth. He met with the Soviet Leader Mikhail (and Raisa) Gorbachev and the statues of the communist leaders were removed and the Divine Principle teaching was allowed to be taught in Russia. He also met with Kim Il Sung of N Korea and declared the ‘Juche’ ideology to be wrong which deeply shocked the small band of people that travelled with him at that time.

If you want to check on the first assertion that the 2nd Advent of Christ was born on the earth shortly after WW1 you will need to do some reading. Here is where to look:
Part 2 of the Exposition of the Divine Principle 'Introduction to Restoration'. This part explains the 'principles of restoration' which have been consistently applied by God to restore mankind to life after the death caused by the Fall of Man. The evidence of this can be checked in your Bible.
Part 2 Chapter 1 'The Providence to Lay the Foundation for Restoration' explains how these principles actually played out as described in the Holy Bible. This chapter should enable you to see your Bible in an entirely new way.
Part 2 Chapter 3 'The Periods in Providential History and the Determination of Their Lengths' shows how the principles of restoration give rise to specific time periods that are in no ways arbitrary. From this can be seen the 'footsteps of God' in history.
Part 2 Chapter 4 'The Parallels between the Two Ages in the Providence of Restoration'. The two ages: are the time from Abraham to Jesus as recorded in the Holy Bible; and the time from Jesus to the 2nd coming of Christ as recorded in the history of Western Europe. The 2nd period is a prolongation caused by the first chosen people's rejection of Jesus (necessitating his return).

Looking forward to hearing from You.

Let us reason together . . .

A new concept - 'True Parents' will help to understand the goal of restoration. This is far more appropriate than Messiah or Christ. Think about it; the first human ancestors did not have to fall, they had a choice. God had told them that they should not eat of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and, in the day that they ate of it, they would die. If the Fall of Man had been part of the plan of God from the beginning then the Bible verse in Genesis 6:6 makes no sense at all: 'And the LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.'

The first ancestors who were born without sin introduced 'sin' into this world and, as a result, all their progeny (us) came to have a different lineage - the lineage of the Fall.

We know that Jesus was born on the earth and yet, in another sense, he came from heaven. Jesus was one who had nothing to do with the fallen lineage and came to give re-birth to all mankind. Because he was regarded as an imposter by the then 'chosen people' he was handed over to the authorities to be executed and so the re-birth was of a spiritual nature only.

Jesus spoke about re-birth to Nicodemus (a man of the Pharisees) in John chapter 3. St Paul equated Jesus with Adam in several of his letters (eg. 1 Cor 15:45). Jesus as a replacement for Adam and the Holy Spirit as a replacement for Eve are the spiritual True Parents of born again Christians, right? The rejection of Jesus by the then 'chosen people' is in the same sphere of tragedy as the Fall of Man. Just as God tried to prevent the Fall of Man (as is evidenced by His warning and subsequent lament expressed in Genesis 6:6) God tried to encourage the then chosen people to believe in Jesus as the Messiah through many mighty works (the miracles) as well as direct statements such as Jesus saying: "believe in me". And in telling the people who asked what they should be doing to do the Will of God to 'Believe in him whom He has sent.' (john 6:29) Unequivocal, right?

If John the Baptist had actually attended Jesus instead of just that one act of baptism and then just words, he wouldn't have ended up on a plate. His lack of faith became a major stumbling block for the then chosen people to accept Jesus as the Christ.

All semantics aside, if JtB had declared that he was the Elijah, as Jesus asserted he was, then the leaders of Judaism at that time could have had an answer to that significant prophecy in Malachi 4:5. As it was, with John's denial, if there was no Elijah, then there was (therefore) no Messiah.

What will it take for Christians to re-appraise their expectations regarding the second coming of Christ? Certainly a first step would be to learn from the lessons of the past. That the first chosen people still (after 2,000 years!) do not accept Jesus as Christ should serve as a permanent and salient reminder. Jesus gave warnings to Christians of the Last Days that it would not be easy to recognize the second coming of Christ (Luke 17;25, 18:8 and Matt. 7:21-23) But today's Christians are similar to Peter when he said in response to Jesus' warning that he would deny him 3 times before the cock crew - just the following morning - "that will never be me! I will die with You! (and all the other disciples said the same)

Rev. Moon coined the term 'True Parents' and was instrumental in Blessing Ceremonies  giving re-birth that could be passed on to the progeny of parents re-born in this way. You can read about this in the '
Peace Messages' that were made over the course of the decades surrounding the new millennium. Peace Message 10 would be a good place to start to connect with this concept.

This should be our focus rather than expecting apocalyptical changes to magically take place. Elijah was recorded as ascending to heaven in a fiery chariot but the second coming of Elijah actually took place through John the Baptist according to the words of Jesus. So those who were looking to the sky could not correct John when he denied that he was the Elijah.

We have to know what is true from our side. in other words we (the people) have to own the truth ourselves. Then we can be trustworthy in the sight of God and the awesome power of God can start to be seen on this earth.

Make no mistake; these are the veritable Last Days right now. There is actual evidence that the Lord of the 2nd Advent came already - shortly after WW1.

Mankind needs 'True Parents' to completely replace those of the Fall. Logical, right?

I came to Christ through the Lord at His Second Coming. I have been connected with what some would regard as a ‘New Age cult’ for more than 40 years. I want, through this website, to share what I’ve come to understand, and show that it stands up to scrutiny, and criticism.

Until quite recently I had regarded Christians as the enemy of the Lord of the Second Advent! But then, through Rev. Moon’s successor, Hyung Jin Moon, after his ‘Breaking the Silence’ (2015 January) where he emphasized the Bible (KJV) and spoke almost exclusively of Jesus, grace and faith I decided to connect with a Christian church (Belmont Church in Harrow, London, UK) to find out about these aspects of faith and grace which I had no idea about.

My strength was the words of truth, as I saw it, that were contained in the ‘Exposition of the Divine Principle’. This is the basic teaching of the Rev. Sun Myung Moon that, for me, made sense of the Bible.

That Hyung Jin Moon (aka Sean Moon) has since become irrelevant is regrettable but should not become a stumbling block. The 8 Great Sacred Texts (available on the Resources page) constitute the New Age Truth that we need to connect with (from the Lord of the Second Coming) and, I believe, these are absolute.

So began a journey that opened up the teaching of Rev Moon to an understanding where I came to realize that I am a Christian, Jesus IS the Messiah (as opposed to was the Messiah) and a complete reappraisal of this teaching which is what I want to share through this means.

OK; there are abridged explanations and sudden conclusions already but I will deal with those if you write to me; let us reason together - and test all things and hold fast to what is good! Also a lot of these can be overcome by reading, "The Exposition of the Divine Principle".

Thanks for engaging with this and I hope to hear from you so that we can share together as brothers and sisters in Christ and arrive at an understanding of the Gospel of the Kingdom of Heaven that is more to do with 1 Corinthians 3:16 than John 3:16 Thank You for visiting this website.

    Let us reason together . . .
