To take the Bible literally seems to be a safe bet as you're not putting any spin on it at all. That's what I meant by saying that it's tempting to read the Bible that way. That said I believe the Bible has only one fundamental interpretation and we do need to connect with God in order to really understand that.

Thanks for this letter, Andrew. My response will be short simply because I'm tired and I have to get up early. Where I live there's a church I often visit and I have a pretty good relationship with the pastor and his wife. I cannot say I've been successful witnessing to Christians. But what I do is meet the pastor after the service and try to spoon feed him small bites of Divine Principle. When you mentioned Elijah it reminded me of this. So, I gave him the example of Elijah and John the Baptist. And I pointed to one of the verses where Jesus said he will return with a new name. The pastor admitted that's food for thought. I didn't press him any further except to say that the Second Coming will take place in the same manner as the First Coming.

AuthorI came to Christ through the Lord at His Second Coming. I have been connected with what some would regard as a ‘New Age cult’ for more than 40 years. I want, through this website, to share what I’ve come to understand, and show that it stands up to scrutiny, and criticism. Archives
